I’m so excited you are here and interested in having Amelia Catherine & Co. document this special season in your lives! It is an honor.

I’ve always loved taking photos and dreamed of one day owning my own business. Who would have thought I could combine the two? In college I studied Interior Design and decided to take photography as an elective course my senior year. I soon learned the technical aspects of the field but also realized I could incorporate my creative eye into every shot. My first wedding was all luck, and maybe a little grace too, and everything else just fell into place! Little did I know how important and fulfilling this job would be and how providing my couples with timeless images to cherish for generations to come would become the very heart of my entire business! Today I have grown to love photographing weddings and telling a couple’s story through my images!

More than anything, my desire is to capture images that will tell the story of your wedding day, reminding you of how you felt in each moment so that you can relive that day over and over again for years to come! I also want to give you an experience that’s worth investing in! My heart is to build relationships with my couples and to serve you along the way so that on your wedding day you feel confident that your day is being captured well and all that is left to do is to enjoy it!

FAQs

What all do you typically photograph on a wedding day?

It definitely depends on the amount of wedding day coverage you have, but I almost always photograph the following: details, getting ready, first look, bride & groom portraits, wedding party portraits, family portraits, ceremony, and the main events at the reception (special dances, cake cutting, bouquet, & garter toss, exit)!

Can I give you a “shot list” of pictures I want taken on the wedding day?

Absolutely! I definitely want to know all the special details and moments you want captured, as well as a list of formal family portraits so that we are sure we don’t forget anyone during all the hustle and bustle!

Is there a travel fee for my wedding or engagement/bridal session?

Any weddings or sessions taking place outside of the Jackson, MS area will have additional charges for transportation, dining, & hotel accommodations. This travel fee will be discussed during your consultation.

On what days do you schedule engagement & bridal sessions?

I prefer to schedule portrait sessions during the week but I know this is not always possible. I’m pretty flexible if a weekday is not feasible for you! Usually portrait sessions take place between 3-6pm, depending on the time of year!

What happens if it rains?

If it rains on the day of your scheduled engagement or bridal session, we’ll just reschedule! If it rains on the day of your wedding, don’t worry - I’ve had plenty of experience shooting weddings in the midst of rain & you will still have beautiful images!

When will I receive my images?

A few days after the wedding you will receive a sneak peek sampling of about 50-100 images! The full gallery will be delivered 8 to 10 weeks after the wedding day. Engagement and bridal session turn around is approximately 2-4 weeks.

Booking

Wedding dates are reserved on a first-come, first-served basis. Dates are held with a non-refundable retainer of 50% and signed agreement, with the balance due 30 days prior to your wedding day.
