A Dolly Parton Inspired Bridal Shower | Florence, MS
Howdy y’all! You know I love to throw a party and I do NOT do anything “basic”. I am EXTRA and I’m not afraid to admit it. Feast your eyes on the most adorable Dolly Parton inspired bridal shower picnic thrown for my precious sister-in-love last fall! We went to DollyWood for her bachelorette weekend so I was super excited to design and plan this fantabulous celebration in honor of her and my brother’s upcoming nuptials.
Every party starts with the invitation and this one was no different. I wanted to design something that would be fun to save and frame and display in a space where you might need some daily inspiration! I loved pairing the lavender envelopes with the pink invitation and using different colored markers to hand letter the addresses. And yes I cut that mylar paper myself and made envelope liners for some extra, extra sass!
Upcountry Camp provided all the adorable picnic props! Pillows on pillows on pillows, colorful candlesticks, and tons of mini disco balls! Bellini Blooms designed the amazing floral centerpiece featured in a larger disco ball and filled with hot pink roses, pale pink carnations, and the prettiest ranunculus you ever did see! Talk about perfection. I made a vanilla buttercream cake with blueberry filling and it was divine if I do say so myself! I love every excuse to use my wedding china and the butterfly napkins and heart sunglasses were the cherry on top of the place settings. I think my favorite detail was the original artwork and floral installation at the foot of the oak tree. J’adore! Also can’t forget those iridescent butterflies! We munched on sandwich sliders, broccoli salad and pasta salad, while we sipped pink lemonade and listened to Dolly on repeat.
